Scott Rochfort has more than 20 years’ experience in financial journalism, media relations and corporate affairs. Scott spent more than a decade on the Sydney Morning Herald as a business journalist and CBD columnist, and has written for a number of media outlets including the Nikkei financial information service QUICK. Scott has advised several leading ASX listed companies, including QBE Insurance and The GPT Group, where he was the Group Media Manager. Scott’s experience includes content development, media relations, crisis and issues management, and providing strategic communications advice to senior leadership. Scott has worked with small to large organisations in the finance, mining, property, renewables, arts, sports and government sectors. He also is media advisor for the Sydney-based corporate and financial communications consultancy Cannings Strategic Communications.
Dr Matt Thompson, Editor and Writer
Dr Matt Thompson is a distinguished journalist and editor, best-selling nonfiction author, and writing instructor. In addition to his three acclaimed books, My Colombian Death, Running With The Blood God, and MAYHEM, Matt has created an influential and compelling body of longform prose and audio reporting from conflict zones of the southern Philippines. Matt – who holds a Doctorate in literary journalism – is also an accomplished public speaker and internationally experienced university lecturer. For the past decade he taught graduate and bachelor media programs at the University of New South Wales. He has written and recorded distinctive and influential reportage for the Sydney Review of Books, ABC Radio National, the BBC, the Weekend Australian, Dazed + Confused, and many others.
Steve Creedy, Senior Communications Consultant
Steve Creedy is an award-winning journalist with more than 40 years’ experience in Australia and the US. He worked in a variety of management and reporting roles for WA Newspapers, the US-based Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Australian before co-developing a consumer/industry aviation website. He has also worked in communications for Airservices Australia and as a Web content developer for the Australian Airports Association.
Justin Norrie, Editor and Writer
Justin Norrie has two decades of experience in Australian and international media, working across both print and broadcast platforms. Justin spent more than a decade at Fairfax Media. This included four years as a Japan correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, where he chronicled the fallout of the global financial crisis and covered the political upheaval that led to the country’s first shift in government in decades. As News Editor of The Conversation website, he was responsible for curating the site and composing daily reports about the latest groundbreaking research by experts in every academic discipline. Based in Tokyo, Justin works as an editorial consultant for the national broadcaster NHK.
